Identifying with our surroundings gives us a connection and can create an emotional response when memories have been elicited. Where we grow up, people we know, family, ethnicity, and gender are all components to who we become. American culture relies heavily on strong imagery, particularly signs, for direction. The signs I create are intricate miniature versions of signage I have seen and photographed over time. At one point these signs meant something but as time passes the meaning becomes a ghost of what it was. They become lonely memories of a past existence of human culture. Similar to Contemporary artist Charles Ledray, I also want the viewer to make their own interpretation based on their perception.
